Lets Start Recording Your Home Music

Normally when I am strumming my guitar and come up with a sound or song that I like I need to record it quickly or its gone so what I do is this:-

Connect the guitar lead to the 6 mm to 3 mm jack then connect to the IN socket on my computers sound card then I go to the studios on my CD Studio 1 is a good place to start and simply press track 1 and press record then I can start to play the guitar sound I want and record into the computer.

Recording directly to your computer will depend on how good your sound card is if it is not up to much and you need to improve on the quality you will need a mixer to interface between the guitar and the pc.

To test I have recorded correctly I play back either through my computers speakers but if on my laptop I will play via my headphone set.

Generally the output level from an electric guitar (or electrical pickup in an acoustic guitar) is sufficient to drive the line input port on a computer. Turn the volume control on the guitar all the way up. You will need a shielded adapter cable as shown below..

You probably have a guitar cable for plugging the guitar into an amplifier, and you can buy a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch adapter instead, plug it into the computer line input then connect the guitar to the adapter using the cable. Be careful if you use this method not to pull on the sound card resulting in damage to your PC/Laptop.

Arm track one and start record/playing guitar you now have a guitar record software that you can use to suit your music requirements.

What I do is set my drum machine first and record into one of the tracks then start recording guitar on top of that. Check out my videos below to give you an idea of what can be achieved…

Remember when you buy the CD you will get my help if you encounter any problems…

There is a lot to this CD with 4 recording studios  2 drum machines and DJ mix studio.

I will try to show you with the help of videos just how good and easy it is to get you up and running. This really is great recording software for pc that you can buy.

Bookmark this page as I will be adding quite a bit of information to the recording process and I will be adding some of my finished work .. but that’s later on.

You have the choice of 2 Drum  Machines so the above shoulld give you an idea of what they can do.

You can create your drum beats then export as a wav file and import intp the recording studio as a track.

OPTIONS FOR CONNECTING GUITAR TO PC

1. Audio USB interface best way to go I recommend Behringer 204HD it allows all the audio and midi connections you could need. You can record guitar and vocals at same time.

2. Using a shielded adapter cable that goes from a 1/4 inch mono plug (to plug into the guitar) to a mono mini-plug (to plug into the computer line input port)

3.Use adapter opposite plug into sound card input of you computer. Then plug in your lead to that and connect your guitar up.

3. Use a USB guitar lead see right.

4. If the sound you are getting from the guitar plugged in directly to your PC is not good enough then you need an audio interface (see images) that will allow guitars and microphones to be plugged in via the interface then to the computer giving a much better powered sound.
