OPTIONS FOR CONNECTING DRUM MACHINE TO PC

1. Audio USB interface best way to go I recommend Behringer 204HD it allows all the audio and midi connections you could need. You can record guitar and vocals at same time.

2. Using a shielded adapter cable that goes from a 1/4 inch mono plug (to plug into the guitar) to a mono mini-plug (to plug into the computer line input port)

3.Use adapter opposite plug into sound card input of you computer. Then plug in your lead to that and connect your guitar up.

3. Use a USB guitar lead see right.

4. If the sound you are getting from the guitar plugged in directly to your PC is not good enough then you need an audio interface (see images) that will allow guitars and microphones to be plugged in via the interface then to the computer giving a much better powered sound.

Multitrack your recordings

Once you start to add tracks you will want to multitrack

You can add more and more tracks for example you start with the basic guitar chords and record that as track one then add bass as next track then add drums then vocals then backing vocals – you get the idea

You can then start to play around with your recorded tracks changing volumes adding special effects

What I did to start with was using my guitar only I recorded the basic chords of the song and saved that as wav 1 then imported as you will see in the video below that gave me my first track then to beef up the sound I duplicated the track and then converted into a stereo track. I then did the same for the vocals and backing track.

Look at these videos to give you an example:-

You have the choice of  2 Drum  Machines so the above should give you an idea of what they can do.

You can create your drum beats then export as a wav file and import into the recording studio as a track.

Alternatively

Drum Samples - this gives you the option just to import one of the drum samples to track one set the BPM and then all you have to do is add guitar on track 2 then vocals track 3 and build it up that way.

It makes it easy to create your first recording if you are just starting out.
